Guanyin (also known as Avalokitesvara) is the Buddhist Bodhisattva of Great Compassion, and is depicted in various forms and styles across the world.
Avalokitesvara originated in India, but took on a feminine depiction (she is also depicted as genderless and/or androgynous in some cultures/traditions) and new name (Guanyin) in China. Guanyin’s popularity lead to her being incorporated into other Chinese Popular Religions such as Taoism and Chinese Folk Religion.
Inspired by Mala Beads and their western counterparts, this one of a kind rosary is handmade and includes a murti (statue) of Guanyin in a Abhaya Mudra pose.
